Where To? Manila!

Where To? Manila!

Lazada Philippines

Some people whoย live in Manila miss the beauty of our dear Philippines' capital city, sadly I am one of them. Last month this changed when our friends from the city of smiles visited and wanted toย tour around the busy streets of the metro. It was just a quickย 9 hour tour as they will be traveling to Ilocos afterwards. Surprisingly, M-A-N-I-L-A has a lot to offer and you have us to attest that! ๐Ÿ™‚ย Here's our BUDGET FRIENDLY itinerary in case you'd like take the fun tour too! ๐Ÿ™‚ (most of the places we visited are free of charge)ย

First stop, lunch at the THE COOK! Lance and Jaisa arrived around 11AM; their flight was delayed ๐Ÿ™ minus 2 hours for the tour.

Anyway, we had lunch at THE COOK by Hongleepark at Fort Bonifacio City.

It was our first time to try this Korean and Italian fusion restaurant, except for Lance who suggested the restaurant. First impression? Food was great! Hahahah! We left the resto full and satisfied. One serving is good for 3-4 persons. It's a bit pricey though was really worth the price.

A must try dish from their menu is the spicy chicken steak salad! 5 stars for this ๐Ÿ™‚ Do visit them at THE FORUM BGC.

PLACES - BGC, Manila

WALL ARTS- Fort Bonifacio City, Taguig, Manila

I read blogs about the wall arts here in BGC and we happen to find one, few blocks from THE COOK. Perfect and very instagrammable! You guys must really check it out!

MINI COOPER SHOWROOM-Fort Bonifacio City, Taguig, Manila

And oh! We also had a side trip to one of the most expensive car showroom as requested by our visitors. The sales agent was warm and even allowed us to take pictures with the luxurious MINI COOPER cars. Kudos to your staffs Mini cooper! Their showroom is artistic, they have mini coop cars installed on the wall and also at the roof! ๐Ÿ˜€ Really, we were amazed! Lol!

VENICE GRAND CANAL MALL-Fort Bonifacio City, Taguig, Manila

Aside from above attractions, the famous Venice Grand Canal Mall or the so called Venice of the Philippines was our main agenda. If you want to experience Italy without shedding too much money for airfare and visa, head on here! You'll surely fall in-love with view plus there are also costumed performers around which you can watch and take pictures with.

For the best part and to feel the atmosphere of Veniceย  most, you can ride the Gandola for Php 350.o0 and be serenaded with your love ones <3. Very romantic date if you're a couple <3

After exploring the Grand Canal, we stopped for a Bingsu dessert before heading to our last destination. There are also various restaurants available.

TIP: Visit the Grand Canal early as it gets to crowded during afternoon.

PLACES - Roxas Blvd., Manila

LUNETA PARK-Roxas Blvd, Manila

When was the last time you visited Luneta Park? Me? I forgot, but the park now is a well developed tourist spot compared before. Below is a picture of the Philippine flag and in front of it was the famous monument of Dr. Jose Rizal. This is the highlight of our tour, visiting one of the largest urban historical park in Asia and major tourist attraction in Manila. Truly the park is a must visited place.

There's also another tourist attraction at the park - THE DANCING FOUNTAIN which plays every thirty minutes during the night. It was very beautiful, perfect spot in ending our short tour. ๐Ÿ™‚ Picnics and jogging around the park also still allowed.

That sums our trip, are you ready to tour Manila and explore more of it? Hope this helps in finding you a place to spend the weekend together with family and friends. Don't forget that the most important part when traveling are the memories you make with the people your with.

Thank you and until our next travel!

  1. The memories are the best part of traveling. You never know what will really happen until you are in the middle of something extraordinary that you know you will remember forever.

  2. Manila has been on my list for some time. As odd as this sounds- I stumble across cute cafes and good coffee shops… so it spiked my curiosity to the city ๐Ÿ™‚ One day I’ll make it there!

    1. Please do check the place. It’s really nice and romantic ๐Ÿ™‚ suggest to visit during morning as it get’s a little crowded at the afternoon onwards. Enjoy!

  3. I haven’t been to the Wall Arts. Is this place big and are there nearby restaurants you recommend? Have you visited Manila Ocean Park yet?

    1. Hi Roch, wall arts can be seen anywhere in BGC, we just happened to find one while we were strolling ๐Ÿ™‚ I can recommend The Cook , food and ambience are great! I have never been to Ocean park but will surely add this up on my bucket list. Have you been there? Can you give me some tips? ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. We haven’t made it to the Philippines yet but it’s on the list and we will make sure we allow enough time to visit Manilla. It looks great and thanks for sharing this with us. I really like the Wall Arts and the Venice canal looks awesome!

  5. BGC is really a very modern place with many cool places to visit. Sometimes it may seem formidable to visit the restaurants because they seem so expensive, and probably are. The Venice Canals are very full of people on weekends, so hard to get a decent photo. We should try to visit on a more quiet day.

  6. I love the idea of a canal inside a mall. I see there is a Gondola there and wonder how far the ride goes for the cost of 350?
